TWO POLISH CO-PRODUCTION PROJECTS SELECTED TO TAKE PART IN LEIPZIG’S DOK CO-PRO MARKET 2025

Two Polish co-productions have been chosen for the 21st edition of the DOK Co-Pro Market at DOK Leipzig. Among the 35 documentary projects invited from 34 countries are "Her Name Is Fields" by Anna Biernacik, Martyna Wróbel, prod.Mozaika Films, Tondowski Films (Poland/Germany) and "The Chef Suffragette" by Magdalena Szymków, prod. Raban, Kerekes Film (Poland/Slovakia).

The DOK Co-Pro Market selection this year reflects a strong presence of women filmmakers: women (co-)directors make up 60 percent of the line-up, drawn from a record 391 submissions. Organizers also announced that five awards will be granted at the market, including the Unifrance Doc Award, the Saxon Award for the Best Documentary Project by a Female Director, the IMAGO Archive Award, the Jacob Burns Film Center Residency Award and the No Nation Films Fellowship Award.

Nadja Tennstedt, director of DOK Industry, highlighted recurring themes visible in both submissions and the final selection: “In this year’s submissions and final selection, we encountered many projects on 2SLGBTQIA+ stories, water as a recurring theme, and aging. The selected projects – spanning from hybrid works and archive-driven films to animated documentaries – are, as always, a mirror of our times: from intimate personal stories and archival explorations to urgent works of direct cinema, the selection reflects today’s most pressing issues.”

The DOK Co-Pro Market 2025 will take place 27–28 October in Leipzig, with complementary online meetings on 4–5 November.
