Krakow Film Festival is not only a programme aboun­ding in shows of Polish and foreign cinematography, diverse as far as topics, con­tent and form of presen­ted films are con­cer­ned. For several years, the Krakow event has been accom­panied by film mar­ket, con­feren­ces and pit­ching forum.

This year’s edition of Krakow Film Festival will be broadened by additional events con­cer­ning the film branch. Apart from pit­ching, con­duc­ted within the frames of the Dragon Forum project, there will be work­shops and a con­ference entitled Vir­tually Yours. Documen­tary Cam­pus is co-​organizer of the programme.


What is Documen­tary Cam­pus?

Documen­tary Cam­pus is one of the most profes­sional European initiatives, dedicated to inter­national co-​production of documen­tary films. Through work­shops, seminars or con­feren­ces DC shows the most essen­tial and prac­tical hints regar­ding the func­tioning of the documen­tary on the television and film mar­ket. Trans­fer­ring experience –to the people wor­king in the film branch, as well to those who make the first moves in this area – is one of the main aims of DC.


What is the Dragon Forum?

Dragon Forum is the yearly work­shop ses­sion, con­cer­ned with the documen­tary film, its produc­tion, mar­keting and promoting. The par­ticipants receive a graduate of the Dragon Forum diploma, while awards are prepared for the best projects. The pit­ching, taking place in Krakow (1^st June t0 6^th June 2010) closes the work­shop cycle.


Documen­tary Cam­pus Master­school 2010

Documen­tary Cam­pus Master­school 2010 is one of the forms of Documen­tary Campus’s activity. The project con­sists of a series of work­shop meetings, addres­sed to a group of European artists, producers and distributors of documen­tary films. The third part, which will take place in Krakow from 31^st May to 4^th June, will be devoted to promoting, distributing and mar­keting documen­tary films on an inter­national scale. All DC’s activities are inten­ded for its par­ticipants. The con­ference organized together with Dragon Forum is opened to everyone.


Vir­tually Yours con­ference

The conference’s leading motif will be the influence of digitization of reality on the promotion and making of the documen­tary film. The lec­turers together with the meeting par­ticipants will try to answer the question, to what extend the digital tech­nologies influence the making and recep­tion of the documen­tary, its cir­culation on the inter­national film mar­ket, distribution. What are positive, and what are negative aspects of this phenomenon? Is there a possibility of con­trol­ling it?
