Dur­ing the clos­ing cere­mony of the DOC­UDAYS UA Inter­na­tional Doc­u­ment­ary Film about Human Rights Fest­ival in Kiev MichałJóźwiak received an award for the film “Foot­ball Father”.

This year’s, sev­enth edi­tion of DOC­UDAYS UA aboun­ded in films of diverse con­tent and form, though hav­ing one com­mon denom­in­ator – the motif of human rights. 31 doc­u­ment­ar­ies com­peted for the awards. They were, among oth­ers, from Great Bri­tain, Den­mark, Fin­land, and Israel. The view­ers of the fest­ival appre­ci­ated the film “Foot­ball Father” by Michał Jóźwiak, hon­our­ing him with the Audience’s Award.

Made within the frames of Doc­u­ment­ary Course in Andrzej Wajda Film School, the film by Michał Jóźwiak presents the story of Mar­cin – a sight­less mas­seur who works in Lodz foot­ball club. The prot­ag­on­ist brings up several-​year-​old son, and, in spite of many dif­fi­culties, tries to show the adult world to the boy.

The doc­u­ment­ary “Foot­ball father” has won appre­ci­ation at many fest­ivals, Pol­ish as well as inter­na­tional, among oth­ers, at Krakow Film Fest­ival, Inter­na­tional Film Fest­ival “Etiuda& Anime” as well as “The Way We Live”” in Munich.
