Polish documentaries will compete for the Golden Frog

This year, for the first time, at the Doc­u­ment­ary Film Con­test „the Pic­ture of the world” organ­ised in the frames of Doc­u­ment­ary Sec­tion of the Inter­na­tional Film Fest­ival of the Art of Cine­ma­to­graphy PLUS CAM­ERAIM­AGE, under the pat­ron­age of Dis­cov­ery Net­works Cent­ral Europe, it was pos­sible to sub­mit applic­a­tions for two tem­poral cat­egor­ies: short – and full-​length one.

The jury, com­posed sep­ar­ately for each of the cat­egor­ies, will decide on who will receive Grand Prix — the Golden Frog award. Addi­tion­ally, inde­pend­ently from the jury’s decision, the Doc­u­ment­ary Film Section’s pat­ron will for the first time in his­tory give the statuettes of Dis­cov­ery Net­works Cent­ral Europe.

12 full-​length doc­u­ment­ar­ies have been qual­i­fied for the Doc­u­ment­ary Film Con­test, includ­ing „Yodok Stor­ies” by Andrzej Fidyk. Fidyk’s doc­u­ment­ary will com­pete with films which have received awards at fest­ivals such as Hot Docs, Dok Leipzig, Krakow Film Fest­ival or Sil­ver­docs. These films include, among oth­ers, „Unmis­taken Child”, „Blind Loves”, “Burma VJ”,“Rene”.
