At the 8 Open St. Peters­burg Film Fest­ival “Begin­ing”, which ended 23^rd Septem­ber in the cur­rent year, “Where the Sun doesn’t rush” received the award for the best doc­u­ment­ary film.

Bobrik’s film is a story about small Slovak vil­lage. People moon about on the empty streets, look with bore­dom at their bored neigh­bours. Only the woman work­ing in the local radio has some­thing to do. She looks for the man­ager of an aban­doned cemetery, or is brought an announce­ment… This film is an impres­sion about the slowly-​dying vil­lage, where the old times are gone, and the new ones haven’t begun yet.

Matej Bobrik is a stu­dent of Dir­ect­ing Depart­ment at the Film School in Lodz, and his doc­u­ment­ary has already received awards in Minsk and Krakow, among others.
