CZEKAJ AND ZŁOTOROWICZ AWARDED AT NEXT FRAME






At the begin­ning of Decem­ber the tour­ing Next­Frame Inter­na­tional Stu­dent Film and Video Fest­ival organ­ized by Temple Uni­ver­sity, announced the win­ners of this year’s edi­tion of the fest­ival. Films by Kuba Czekaj and Piotr Zło­torow­icz rep­res­en­ted Poland among the awar­ded ones.

Fest­ival was set up eight­een years ago with the inten­tion of expos­ing cut­ting edge stu­dent work pro­duced at film and art schools in US and abroad. Every year the fest­ival screens sev­eral films rep­res­ent­ing all short genres from doc­u­ment­ary to exper­i­mental film. Next­Frame final­ists are chosen by the end of the year for the fol­low­ing year’s exhib­i­tion at uni­ver­sity cam­puses, museums, media art cen­ters and inde­pend­ent theat­ers through­out the US and around the globe.

Two Pol­ish films – “Twist and blood” by Kuba Czekaj and “Char­coal burn­ers” by Piotr Zło­torow­icz were not only chosen to the selec­tion but also awar­ded. The short fic­tion made by Kuba Czekaj – a gradu­ate of Radio and Tele­vi­sion Depart­ment of the Uni­ver­sity of Silesia in Katowice scored the second award in the fic­tion cat­egory while “Char­coal burn­ers” by Piotr Zło­torow­icz made at Pol­ish National Film School in Łódź, was awar­ded also the second prize – this time in the doc­u­ment­ary section.
