A documentary film profile of Michal Urbaniak, perhaps the world’s best known Polish jazzman. It is a story of a multiinstrumentalist, composer, leader, and producer. But first of all about a man who loves music…
It is a story told by the man himself, a story of the meanders of his spectacular career that shows his unconventional and innovative approach to music, and defines and explains his creative credo. While telling his story Urbaniak guides us through its milestone locations in New York City: Harlem’s Appollo Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Broadway, Blue Note, and Village Vanguard, and meets his famous brothers in arms: George Duke, Buster Williams, Lenny White, Don Blackman, Tom Browne, Felton Crews, Wojciech Karolak, and Tomasz Stańko.
