SENTENCED FOR LIFE

POLISH TITLE: WYROK NA ŻYCIE

‘Come back to us soon’, say the inmates to their friend who is going on a few day leave. The reasons why these women went to jail become irrelevant when confronted with what is happening here and now, which is much more important. Ordinary life goes on behind bars. Women bring up children, work, gossip, plan a wedding ceremony or even meet their future fathers-in-law during visits. The detained women miss their loved ones, dream about the future and treat their time in prison as a threshold in life, after which everything will change.
