KICHKA. LIFE IS A CARTOON

The film director presents the topic of inherited trauma in the family of a Holocaust survivor. Henri Kichka was a prisoner of concentration camps for three years. The shadow it cast on his soul was partially inherited by his son Michel, a famous illustrator and cartoonist. After the war, the family set out to rebuild their life in Belgium. Many years later, Henri confronted his own identity of a Jewish survivor and war hero. Michel's illustrations, especially his cartoon on relations between the father and the son, “Second Generation”, played a significant role in this process.
