POLISH TITLE: AMNEZJA

Piotr, who lived in Poland for 22 years, only after 20 years abroad learnt that 300 metres away from his family home 42 people had been murdered in the Kielce pogrom on 4 July 1946. A phone conversation with his mother reveals this unknown fact from the family history. In order to fully explain the matter, Piotr comes to Poland, to his parents’ house. Nothing will remain unambiguous in the maze of facts, interpretations of events and emotions.

Outstanding documentary films director. Author of a.o. Vodka Factory, Two Rembrandts in the Garden, My American Family and Tango, gräl och ledbesvär. Tutor at International Academy of Documentary Arts. Born in Radom, from 1982 lives in Sweden. Graduate of  the Department of Clasical Filology at the University of Toruń and Department of Journalism at the University  of Warsaw He collaborates with a number of television channels, including TVP, ZDF and ARTE. Śladkowski has produced and directed over 40 films, mostly documentaries. His picture Swedish Tango won the IDA Award and his documentary Vendetta received Prix Arte for the best European documentary.
