THE END OF THE VALLEY OF TEARS
POLISH TITLE: KONIEC ŚWIATA W DOLINIE ŁEZ
The Valley of Tears is a special place. A place that witnessed exceptional human dramas for decades. Those who were diagnosed with leprosy were sent there from all over the country. over night, they were taken from their respective family homes to which they will never return. The total isolation of lepers was not enough for the Communist regime. They imposed a policy of "non-breeding", and the Valley of Tears was removed from the map of the world, pushed aside as though it did not exist. Once inhabited by a few hundred people, today only 16 lepers remain. Year after year, more die off. When the last one dies, the village will disappear from the map forever. This is the last chance for us to hear the villagers’ dramatic story.

Graduate of polish philology. PhD student at the Film and Television Direction Department of Polish National Film School in Lodz. He had been educated by the giants of Polish documentary: Kazimierz Karabasz and Lidia Zonn. He works in both - fiction and documentary as well. Apart from filmmaking activities he is a lecturer at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw.
