FOLLOWING HERBERT’S FOOTSTEPS IN LVIV
POLISH TITLE: ŚLADAMI HERBERTA PO LWOWIE
Who is Zbigniew Herbert for the Ukraninian intelligentsia from Lviv? Oleksandr Overchuk, a set designer, is preparing a happening on 28 July to honour the poet’s death. It will involve listening to the poet’s voice and reading his poems in the courtyard of a house at Łyczakowska street where Herbert used to live as a child. ‘When someone is looking for a revelation they open up a book by Schulz or Herbert and there they find it’, says the poet’s fan from Lviv.
