POLISH DOCS 2011, the second edition of the DVD, gives an overview of contemporary Polish documentary production. Among eight documentaries included in this DVD compilation, there are the latest productions made by young, authors making their first steps towards professional filmmaking. Most of them were directed by students of Andrzej Wajda Studio & Film School such as Marta Minorowicz and Kuba Maciejko, who through their films deriving from pure and patient observation, portrayed microcosm of nursing house and local gastronomy booth. Also film made by Piotr Bernaś – documenting the work of one among the most uncompromising Polish paparazzo – draws our attention mainly by its dynamic and captivating style.
Polish filmmakers are also eagerly visiting the most distant parts of the world following intimate stories of their characters taking place in Argentina (Wojciech Staroń), Cuba (Marcin Filipowicz) and Russia (Piotr Stasik). In beautifully shot, outdoor, Far from the City, Maciej Cuske observes his son Staś, who during the holidays, is trying to follow in his fathers’ footsteps and become a filmmaker shooting a ?lm with his pals. Finally, last but not the least, Tomasz Wolski in his spectacular and extremely well crafted film, comes back to the subject taken up in The Clinic, this time portraying the difficult work of the doctors.

The DVD is not for sale and it has been produced in order to distribute among international film professionals.
